Swim Team Organized by Amy Fairchild and Ted Freedman The WG Swim Team is open to all interested students who can swim at least one length of the pool. This is not a 'learning to swim' class and all participants must be able to safely swim the entire length of the pool without assistance. The Swim Team is a LOT of fun! If you join, please plan on attending every practice, and you MUST show up to the Swim Meet. Practices: Will be held on Wednesday's from 4:00 - 5:00 at the Genoveva Chavez Center. Please have your children there in time to change into bathing suits and be on the bleachers with goggles in hand! We will usually say a few words, then the kids will take a quick rinse and separate into lanes. We will have a total of 7 practices starting March 21 going through May 2. The Meet: Will be held Saturday, May 5th, beginning at 8am... and usually is over by 1pm. The participants entry to the Genoveva Chavez Center is covered by their registration fee, but spectators are asked to pay a $2 admission fee to help pay for the pool rental time. Please return all required forms, plus the $40 registration fee in an envelope marked "Swim Team" to the office no later than March 2, 2012. Please enter your Child's name in the field for 'special instructions to seller' so we can track the payment correctly. Also, please print a copy of your receipt and attach to registration forms to show proof of payment. CALL FOR WG PTC SWIM TEAM VOLUNTEERS We need Parent Volunteers to help with the following: SWIM COACHES (8-10 coaches) Assist Coach Ted Freedman and Amy Fairchild by helping children in the pool with their swimming techniques and keeping order 'on the deck' Need to be at all swim practices (Wednesday's 4:00 - 5:00) at the GCCC. Coaches, also must be at the Swim Meet to be at the Swim Meet SWIM PARTY/T-SHIRTS/MEDALS (1 or 2 people) Attend Swim Meet Party (Thursday, May 3, 2012 2:45pm) to pass out T-Shirts Attend Morning Assembly in May to help pass out medals after Swim Meet SWIM MEET BOOSTERS (as many as will volunteer!) Need to be available for Swim Meet 8a-1p-ish... Need Timers at the blocks for races Organize kids for various events Help organize chaos, cheer, and have fun!
